Covenant's Freedom School is a Children's Defense Fund program. The Freedom School provides 6-week summer enrichment through a research-based and multicultural program model that supports K-12 scholars and their families through five essential components: high quality academic and character-building enrichment; parent and family involvement; civic engagement and social action; intergenerational servant leadership development; and nutrition, health and mental health. Covenant's Freedom School takes place every June. The next school session is June 13, 2022 - July 22, 2022.

COMMUNITY GARDEN

Covenant's Community Garden was birthed from a desire to provide a healthy resource option of vegetables grown from seeds and nourished by love. The year 2021 yielded the garden's first crop of tomatoes, cucumbers, squash, sweet potatoes, zucchini, corn and more. The vegetables are shared with the community. Contact Covenant if you're interested in volunteering in the garden.

UBUNTU ACADEMY

Begins Wednesday, November 10, 2021 @  6 pm, held at High Street UMC (230 E High St, Springfield, OH)

Ubuntu Academy is an extension of our Freedom School offering resources, information, and a path to empower our families.  Ubuntu in Zulu means "humanity" and sometimes translated "I am because we are" which is our desire for this program.  Adam Russell Taylor states, “Ubuntu teaches us that our nation’s health is inextricably linked to the thriving of all people” this is our goal of the academy. The Ubuntu Academy will offer the following: financial fitness, health education, physical fitness, crafts and more.
